Communities Minister, Gordon Lyons MLA, has appointed Councillor Mark Cooper as a Member of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE) Board with effect from 17 November 2025 until the next local council elections.

This is in line with the statutory requirement to have four Board Members drawn from the Northern Ireland Housing Council, with three such Members already serving on the Board.

The NIHE was established by the Housing Executive Act (NI) 1971. It is the Strategic Housing Authority for Northern Ireland, and a public landlord at scale, with an annual budget of approximately Pound 1.2bn, providing a range of public services and around 83,000 homes.
