The Department of Health (DoH) has today published Quarterly Carers' Statistics for Northern Ireland (January - March 2022).

This publication of quarterly figures relates to assessments and re-assessments offered to carers in Northern Ireland. A carers' assessment looks at each carer as an individual with their own personal circumstances, and will identify any particular needs they may have as a result their caring duties.

Carers Reassessments

  • A carers' reassessment was offered to 1,255 carers in Northern Ireland during the quarter ending 31 March 2022. This represents a 29% increase on the number of reassessments offered in the previous quarter and an increase of 8% when compared to the same quarter in 2021.
  • Of the 1,255 carers' reassessments offered, 84% (1,058) were accepted / completed and 16% (197) were declined.
